# How to hide a product in a Shoptet category

If you want a product that is visible only to people who know its URL, follow these steps:

1. Open the category menu: Products -> Categories.
2. Create a main category with the "Add main category" button.
3. Name it "Hidden category".
4. In the category settings, on the "Visibility" tab, uncheck "Show expanded in the category menu" and "Visibility".
5. Click Save.
6. Example of a hidden category: https://webotvurci.myshoptet.com/skryta-kategorie/ (visible only in the Shoptet admin).
7. Create a subcategory of the Hidden category using the "+" next to its name.
8. Enable visibility for this subcategory.
9. Click Save.
10. Example of a visible category: https://webotvurci.myshoptet.com/viditelna-kategorie/
11. Create a "Secret product" and assign it to the "Visible category".
12. Save the product.
13. The product is now on the site, but it isn't visible in the regular categories.
14. Example product: https://webotvurci.myshoptet.com/tajny-produkt/
15. Ideally, redirect the "Visible category" so customers can't see all the hidden products.
