Custom shipping methods for Shoptet Premium

Is your Shoptet missing the pickup points your expansion depends on? Our widget adds them to the Shipping and payment step — the customer picks a locker or a branch on a map, the widget calculates the shipping price and writes the chosen point into the order. VHL Europe, Pošta bez hranic, InPost or a custom widget.

When Shoptet is missing the pickup points

Shoptet has plenty of carriers — as long as you sell into Czechia and Slovakia. The moment you expand, you hit the wall: in Romania customers expect Sameday or FAN Courier pickup points, in Bulgaria eCont, in Hungary FoxPost lockers. They won't find them in the shipping list and the order dies at the step where there is nothing to choose.

And this is only ever about pickup points, lockers and post office branches. Delivery to the address is built into Shoptet and works well — we don't touch it and you don't pay for it.

Shoptet Premium has an open API and allows custom code in the checkout. That's what we use: we deliver a widget that calculates the shipping price in the Shipping and payment step, lets the customer pick a pickup point on a map and writes the chosen one into the order. That's where our part ends — we don't do labels, parcel handovers or shipment states.

The widget is carrier-agnostic. It can take the pickup points from the Pošta bez hranic offer (their PickMapp pickup point map) or from VHL Europe, with D+1 express delivery to ten EU countries. The transport itself, the labels and the handover are then handled in your warehouse system — typically Brani WMS — or directly in the carrier's own system.

If your carrier is in neither of those offers, we build a custom widget on top of their pickup point API. It is still just picking a point and calculating the shipping price, nothing more.

When Shoptet is enough and when you need the widget

This is only ever about pickup points and lockers — delivery to the address is built into Shoptet and the widget doesn't touch it. The service starts to make sense once the pickup points your customer knows are missing from that list.

  • Delivery to the address

Carriers built into ShoptetShoptet does it itself and does it well. The widget doesn't touch it.
Our widgetNot the widget. When you need to price delivery to the address with a formula of your own, there's a separate service for that: Custom shipping price calculation.
  • Pickup points and lockers abroad

If the carriers built into Shoptet cover you, leave it be and save the money. You need us the moment the list is missing the one carrier your expansion depends on.

Where your customer picks the parcel up

Everything on the list is a pickup point, a locker or a post office branch — Shoptet delivers to the address on its own. The widget is carrier-agnostic: it takes the points either from the VHL Europe offer (D+1 express delivery to ten EU countries) or from Pošta bez hranic and its PickMapp pickup point map. Pick a country and see what your customer would be able to choose.

International shipping

These are pickup points, lockers and post office branches only — Shoptet handles delivery to the address on its own. Each carrier name links to their site. For a carrier that is missing we build a custom widget on top of their pickup point API: Shoptet Premium has an open API and we write custom code for it every week.

What the widget does

The widget does one thing: in the Shipping and payment step it works out the shipping price and lets the customer pick a pickup point. It is always pickup points, lockers and post office branches — Shoptet handles delivery to the address on its own, so we leave it alone.

  • Pickup point chosen right in the orderthe customer picks a locker or a branch on a map in the Shipping and payment step. No detour to the carrier's own site.
  • The chosen point written into the orderyour fulfilment team reads it straight from the order in Shoptet, with nothing to retype.
  • Shipping price matching your contractwe set the rates and the shipping-method mapping to match what you agreed with the carrier.
  • D+1 express to ten EU countrieswith VHL Europe: delivered from Czechia and Slovakia the next working day.
  • A local sender addresswith VHL Europe the customer sees a local address in their country. It builds trust and cuts returns.
  • Your own language versionsshipping names and descriptions in the language the customer is shopping in.
  • Widget updates included in the operation feewhen the carrier or Shoptet changes an API, we adapt the widget. You shouldn't even notice.

What the widget does not do: it doesn't print labels, hand parcels over or change order states. Once the pickup point is written into the order, the warehouse takes over — Brani WMS prints the label and switches the order states through Order Automation. Without Brani, you handle labels and handovers in the carrier's system or in your own warehouse system.

How the rollout works

A standard widget rollout including configuration and test orders takes 10 to 15 working days.

  1. We agree whose points to showwhich carrier, into which countries and which delivery methods.
  2. Shoptet approves itcustom code in Premium is approved by Shoptet. We handle that for you.
  3. We adapt the widgetshipping mapping, rates, languages and the look inside your template.
  4. We test it on orderswe go through picking a pickup point and check it lands in the order in the form your warehouse understands.
  5. We launch and watch itin operation you get support and updates whenever an API changes.

It fits into Brani

The widget covers the first half of the journey: the customer picks a pickup point or a locker in the Shipping and payment step, the widget works out the shipping price and writes the chosen point into the order. That is where our work ends.

The second half — picking, packing, printing the label and switching the order state — happens in the warehouse, in Brani WMS. It reads the pickup point straight from the order in Shoptet, prints the label and switches the states through Order Automation. If you already run Brani, there is nothing to reconfigure.

Without Brani, you print the labels and hand the parcels over in the carrier's system or in your own warehouse system. The widget doesn't care either way — all it does is write the chosen point into the order.

We deploy both and we know where they meet — if you're unsure the combination fits your setup, we'll tell you outright.

  • Brani – warehouse and fulfilment for Shoptet stores

Need to work the shipping price out your own way?

The widget handles pickup points: it shows them to the customer on a map and writes the chosen one into the order. It works the shipping price out from the rates you agreed with your carrier.

Pricing delivery to the address is a different job — with heavy and palletized goods it comes out of the postcode, the weight, the dimensions, the pallet count and the warehouse the goods leave from. The widget isn't built for that; for that we build a separate module.

What it costs

The widget licence and its rollout are paid once per carrier — no matter how many of their shipping methods you offer. Operation is then monthly per store, and separately for each carrier. Click through what it comes to for you.

How this adds up

  • 1× operation at €32 a month = €32

All prices exclude VAT.

The calculator covers our work — the widget licence, its rollout and running it. You keep paying the carrier for the shipping itself under your own contract; that is not part of this figure.

Not sure it will pay off?

Tell us which countries you sell into and where orders are dropping off at the shipping step. We'll look at whether we can find those pickup points in the Pošta bez hranic or VHL Europe offer, or whether a custom widget on top of your carrier's API is worth it for you.

The consultation is free and commits you to nothing. If we think the carriers Shoptet offers on its own are plenty for you, we'll say so outright.

Frequently asked questions

What does the pickup point widget for Shoptet cost?
The widget licence and its rollout are €400 excl. VAT per carrier, one-off. Then there's the operation fee: €32 a month for the first store, €24 for the second and €16 for the third and every further one. Operation is charged per carrier separately, so two carriers on two stores come to €32 + €24 + €32 + €24 = €112 a month excl. VAT.
Do I pay per shipping method or per carrier?
Per carrier. If you offer five different delivery methods from VHL Europe, it's still one licence at €400. A second licence only applies to a different carrier — Pošta bez hranic, for instance.
Does it work on regular Shoptet, or only on Premium?
Shoptet Premium only. The widget needs custom code in the checkout and the open API, and only Premium has both. On regular Shoptet you're limited to the carriers Shoptet has integrated itself.
Which carriers can the widget show?
It takes the pickup points from two ready-made offers: VHL Europe, with D+1 express delivery to ten EU countries, and Pošta bez hranic with its PickMapp map widget — pickup points and lockers in 25 European countries, Balíkovna, Zásilkovna, InPost, DHL, FoxPost, Sameday, eCont, BOX NOW and more. For a carrier that's in neither, we build a custom widget on top of their pickup point API.
Do you handle delivery to the address as well?
Not with the widget, and that's deliberate. Everything it shows is a pickup point, a locker or a post office branch — delivery to the address is built into Shoptet and paying for a widget that does the same thing makes no sense. It's a different story the moment you need to price delivery to the address with a formula of your own: from the postcode, the weight, the dimensions, the number of pallets or the warehouse the goods leave from. For that we have a separate service, Custom shipping price calculation for Shoptet Premium.
Do you print labels and send shipment states?
No. The widget's job ends the moment it writes the chosen pickup point into the order. Labels are printed by the warehouse system — for our clients most often Brani WMS — and Brani switches the order states through its Order Automation. Without a warehouse system, you hand the parcels over and print the labels in the carrier's system.
Does it work alongside Brani?
Yes, and it's the usual combination. The widget and Brani cover two different parts of the same process: our widget writes the pickup point the customer chose into the order, and Brani WMS picks that order up for fulfilment — picking, packing, label printing and, through Order Automation, switching the states too. Both sit on top of the same Shoptet order, so if you already run Brani there is nothing to reconfigure.
Do I need my own contract with the carrier?
Not for carriers included in the Pošta bez hranic offer — the shipping goes through them. For some carriers (DPD, GLS, PPL, Packeta, FoxPost, BRT) the widget renders the pickup points, but you hold your own contract with the carrier. With VHL Europe you contract directly with them. The carrier list on this page marks this for every one of them.
How long does the rollout take?
Typically 10 to 15 working days including widget configuration and test orders. That covers getting the custom code approved by Shoptet, which we handle for you.
